More Free, Fun Stuff at Lowes

The Lowes' Build and Grow Workshop has to be my favorite FREE activity for kids. This week Lowes is offering this super cute Yard Mobile. All you have to do to participate in this awesome program is sign your children up on-line for the clinic, print out the confirmation and show up at the Lowes you selected between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28th.

When you arrive the very nice people at Lowes will give each child a free work apron, the yard mobile kit and a certificate of completion with a super cute patch that is themed to the project topic.

So far my son and I have made a Lowes' race car and a table top basketball game. To add to the fun, we like to take our projects home and paint them.

If you are looking for something fun and absolutley FREE to do with kids this weekend, don't miss Lowes' Build to Grow Clinic. Also, if your children are young, mine is two, still sign up. The projects are easy to construct and they come with step by step directions with pictures. For the technically challenged, there is a Lowes' associate who runs the clinic and is super helpful.

Fun Free Activities For Kids

Want to do something fun and free with your kids? Try one of the programs listed below.

Lowe's Build and Grow Clinics are available every other Saturday. All you have to do is complete a simple three step registration and show up between 10 a.m-11 a.m. and your child will receive a free work apron, safety goggles, craft kit, merit badge and certificate of completion. I took my son, who is two, and he had a great time building a race car with his dad.

Look for Lowe's upcoming clinics and sign up fast. Each store only has 50 available slots. March 14th the Lowe's Build and Grow Clinic will be making Tabletop Basketball, pictured above. Take the link above to sign up and enjoy a free, fun and rewarding experience with your kids.

If you don't have a Lowe's near you, check out Home Depot's Free Kid Workshop every first Saturday of the month between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. There is no registration for the Kid Workshop. The next available workshop will be a window birdhouse on Saturday, April 4th.

Borders has great FREE and educational activities for kids. Visit Borders, click in your zip code and find out what activities are available at your Borders. Most activities for kids are on Saturday afternoons. Upcoming events for March include a 40th anniversary celebration of Eric Carle the beloved author of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They are advertising fun art and reading activities for kids ages 3-9. There is no registration but I would check the event calender for your Borders to find out the date and time.

**There is an extra bonus from now until April 28th for moms visiting Borders. Seattle's Best Coffee is offering a buy one medium or large mocha or latte and receive a complimentary mocha or latte of equal or lesser value.

Barnes and Noble also offers free story times for children. Take a look at the events posted at the Barnes and Nobel closest to you by entering your zip to check for dates and times. Their site is a little more vague about what their story time includes and if anyone has attended one of Barnes and Noble's events, or any of the other events listed I would love to hear your thoughts and reviews.

Clearing Up Coupon Confusion For Wegmans

Wegmans Accepts On-Line Coupons
There is a myth circulating throughout Western New York that Wegmans no longer accepts on-line coupons. This is not true, in fact nothing could be farther from the truth. Wegmans not only accepts on-line coupons, they will also double a manufactures coupon any day of the week up to $.99. To help clarify any coupon confusion I am posting the official rules from Wegmans home page below.

Coupon Policy for Wegmans in NY (NA in Johnston City)
We only double manufacturer's coupons with a face value of $.99 or less with the following exceptions and limitations:

* Coupons with a face value of $1.00 or greater will be redeemed at face value.
* One manufacturer's coupon per item for a SPECIFIC BRAND product.
* Only FOUR(4) manufacturer's coupons can be doubled on FOUR(4) of the same brand product per day. Additional coupons for the same brand product will be redeemed at face value.
* Only FOUR(4) manufacturer's coupons for free products can be redeemed per day (excluding Internet coupons).
* The double or face value of a coupon may NOT exceed the retail price.
* One manufacturer's coupon and Shoppers Club discount or store coupon may be redeemed on the same item. The combination of a manufacturer's coupon and a Shoppers Club discount/store coupon may not exceed the retail price.
* One manufacturer's coupon may be redeemed for each Club Pack product.
* We cannot give you a raincheck for manufacturer's coupons.
* We do not accept manufacturer's coupons for free products downloaded from the Internet.
